Payment terms
Payment due within 14 days. Final files are released on payment.
Net 14, because design is delivered in a burst and waiting a month to be paid for a week's work is how a studio runs out of cash.
The last instalment is the one that goes quiet
Design work gets approved in stages and paid in one — usually late, and usually after the files are already in use. The template holds back final handover until payment, states it on the invoice rather than in a follow-up email, and keeps the revision rounds you agreed on the document where the client can see them.
Withholding tax
If you bill companies rather than individuals, they will withhold tax at source and pay you less than the invoice says. The invoice shows that before it happens instead of after.
